Welcome LIUNA 777 - Carlsbad Unified Classified Members

Negotiations update: There has been some movement on wages but not significant. We feel we can do better. We are still fighting for equitable treatment on wages & benefits for everyone. Please look for a postcard coming home soon with important information from Liuna 777 which essentially has the following message:

We need every LIUNA member and their families (members are strongly encouraged to bring their children!) to attend the CUSD Board Meeting on Wednesday, June 17th at 5:00.

We need to show solidarity and the strenuousness of our resolve to win a fair contract. YOU DESERVE TO BE TREATED FAIRLY in the areas of wages and benefits. Together we must deliver this message to the CUSD Board. Meet in the parking lot at 5:00 pm to get a t-shirt, a hot dog, and a sign before we go into the meeting.

For updates check the LIUNA Local 777 Facebook page, and our Wiki site.

Stephen Switzer, Business Manager
Laborers' International Union of North America, Local 777

We need as many people & families there as possible. We want them to see the people they are affecting with their decisions.

Report of Meeting 6/4/15

Our final meeting of the year was held on Thursday, June 4th at Cafe Panini. Thank you all for the great turnout (we surprised them, sorry for running out of food)! The main order of business was as follows:
  1. Introduction of Kevin Simonds as our newest Member at Large that we recruited to help cover Rachel Austin's vacancy once negotiations are over. He will remain in that position until elections in the Spring.
  2. Business meeting at which Stephen Switzer outlined the status of our negotiations so far and where we would like to end up. A show of hands was requested as to whether or not we pursue the current direction as it pertained to wages & benefits. The response appeared to be clearly supporting our current efforts.
  3. Recognition of our 15 retirees.
